In 1997, Sondra Bernstein had an idea: take the fresh, local ingredients of Sonoma wine country and pair the Rhone varietal wines that highlight their elegant simplicity. Combining her artistic vision with a region that spans lush inland crops, estuary, and open sea, a Sonoma Valley institution was born.

the fig café is in the original building where Sondra and a handful of friends and family painted, decorated, renovated, and began serving the best the county had to offer with love, soul, and hope that others would love Sonoma's bounty the same way she did.

Nearly a quarter century later, the fig café continues to do just that.
